The blend of traditional pencil-drawn outlines, digital painting, and vector art both mirrors and exudes the essence of this rarely-seen NANA scene: a cigarette break in-between songs in a set. Nana Ösaki unplugs from her tremendous stage presence just enough to take it down a notch as she primes her sonic blast once again.
I love the way you used the texture on her jacket. The lines in this are great, and the simplicity of the colors is so cool.
Freaking AWESOME.
I can see why you won with this!

I can see why that won 2nd place! It's incredibly neat (in both senses of that word) I like the combination you used of various resources, the semi abstract background that sets the theme and the drawing itself...
I like your use of vector for colouring too, particularly for the skirt pattern, it gives it depth, clarity and brings out Nana's fashion style... A double thumbs up and another congratulation to you!

like i said before, i'll try to up a notch in my style. not getting any younger, and i don't imagine myself at 50 and bragging about my clean lines! thanks!
thank you! i've been trying to infuse some vectoring to my drawings. i tried to do one that's purely digital, but it didn't go as planned, so here's something with the best of both.
Congratulations! It's absolutely awesome. I have no idea what I can say, but I love how she stares straight at the audience, and that background is pretty damn great too (like the headphone jacks, small touches make the work spectacular).
This is amazing! I agree with the first comment posted, about the texture. Also I love how the colors you chose make the red kind of burst out.
Great job
